The Query Generator provides fields under the Operational Segments relation for extracting and analysing data in Excel, enabling in-depth analysis of segment usage, ground operations, and air traffic patterns.

1. Understanding the available fields

The Query Generator includes two sets of fields for operational analysis:

• Operational Segments fields for air traffic analysis
• Ground/Block Analysis fields for ground operations

2. Using Query Generator queries

Query Generator queries serve multiple purposes within the system. You can use them to load data into the Browsers and for Reporting functions.

The system allows you to select search criteria across relations, enabling complex segment queries. For example, you can construct queries to identify excessive segment use by particular airlines or aircraft types, or rank most-used segments by time of day. When you link segment data with operations and runway use, the opportunity for in-depth analysis becomes evident.

3. Analysing ground operations data

Ground data analysis helps you determine problem areas of congestion and identify choke points. You can also use this data to gauge wear and tear on runway areas.

Accurate usage data informs your airport's long-term planning for upgrades, maintenance, or replacement of apron, taxi areas, and runway infrastructure.

4. Analysing in-air segments

In-air segments can be identified and quantified to assess the performance of Air Traffic Control (ATC) and pilots. This analysis focuses on efficiency and safety for aircraft flying into and out of the terminal area.

5. Visualising data on the Map Display

The Map Display includes numerous features for OPAS functionality, particularly for visualising ground or air traffic. These features provide visual representation of the operational data extracted through the Query Generator.
