Map browser access is required.

The Airport Blocks Browser allows you to view and manage GIS polygon blocks on the map, control their visibility, and configure block states for aircraft routing.

1. Accessing the browser

The Airport Blocks Browser is accessed via the Map Browser and Map Menu on the Client.

To open the browser, follow these steps:

1. Locate the GIS Layers button.
2. Select GIS Layers.

The browser window displays details for each block that is part of the GIS polygon on the map.

2. Navigating blocks

You can navigate between blocks using either the browser or the map:

• Select a block row in the browser to highlight the block on the map
• Click a block on the map to highlight the corresponding row in the browser

3. Controlling block visibility

You can choose whether blocks are shown on the map using the buttons across the top of the browser.

To hide or show blocks, follow these steps:

1. Select the block or blocks you want to modify.
2. Click the Hide or Show button.

4. Understanding block states

Blocks can have two states applied to them:

Open/Closed: An open block allows auto-generated segments to pass through it. If the block is closed, OPAS will not auto-generate segments through it when data is missing and will attempt different routing instead.

Code F rating: The block can be rated Code F, meaning it is rated for usage by Code F aircraft. If segment data is missing, OPAS will route Code F aircraft only through Code F blocks. If actual radar tracks are detected in a non-Code F block, the operation will automatically be tagged as a Code F Block Violation, allowing you to search for those data tags.

5. Editing or creating block configurations

Block configurations control the Open/Closed and Code F rating states.

To edit or create a configuration, follow these steps:

1. Select the block you want to modify.
2. Click the Edit or Create button on the toolbar.

Configurations are dated for their beginning. When you create a new configuration, the old configuration is bookended by the new one.

You can enable or disable Code F rating and open or close a block within the configuration.

Note: Block creation or alteration must be conducted by EMS Technicians.
